What Is a Mini Gastric Sleeve?
A traditional sleeve gastrectomy is a bariatric surgery in which a surgeon removes up to 85% of a patient's stomach. This gives the stomach the appearance of a sleeve, reduces the amount of ghrelin (the hunger hormone) present in the stomach, and allows patients to feel full with less food.
A mini gastric sleeve aims to accomplish the same goals as a traditional sleeve gastrectomy, but removes less of the stomach: mini gastric sleeve reduces the stomach to 40%-50% of its original size. It is often a good choice for patients who are active and have a BMI under 35.

I just had the Gastric Sleeve done this past Monday, July 12th. What a great decision!! This whole organization is AMAZING!! From the nurses to Dr. Sandy Martinez. I never felt uncomfortable or scared. From the minute Dr. Sandy looked at me in the operating room and said "Listo?" to my waking up in my hospital room with my wonderful husband waiting for me, I knew I was in good hands.

Dr. Sandy and her staff is amazing. I had a great experience there, it was life changing and I’m so glad she was highly recommended to me. I was treated so good me and my fiancé.
